The anti-program

It will not tell you what to do

Every other app in this category hands you a template with your name on it. ReInvent is built on the opposite bet: explain the reasoning, hand over the tools, and let you build something that is genuinely yours.

That is not abandonment, and beginners are not an afterthought — they need the reasoning most, so they get the most scaffolding: sane starting points you can change, worked examples, and the why behind each one. What you never get is “do this, do not ask”.

Three pillars, one refusal

Train · Fuel · Build

Train

A strength logger that shows you what the work actually did.

  • Around 870 exercises, with faceted search and your own custom entries
  • Eight logging types and five set types, including supersets and dropsets
  • Plate maths and warm-up ramps worked out for you
  • A front-and-back heatmap of the regions your sets actually loaded
  • Per-exercise ranks across eight tiers, normalised for bodyweight

Fuel

Intake tracking with the reasoning attached to every target.

  • Food data from USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts
  • Barcode and nutrition-label scanning that runs on your device
  • Around thirty micronutrients, each with its derivation and real citations
  • Targets that adapt to your own logged intake and weight trend
  • Saved meals, recipes, retro-logging, and free CSV export

Build

Habits you design, at a cadence you choose.

  • Five cadences — daily, chosen days, N times a week or month, every N days
  • A momentum score that dips when you miss and never resets to zero
  • Habits you are dropping, tracked as days clean
  • Stacks that chain habits onto an anchor you already keep
  • A grove where each habit is a plant whose growth is its momentum

Why it is different

The parts that matter

It shows its work

Twenty-seven articles and a set of in-context tooltips, every claim tied to a real, URL-verified source — Mifflin, Morton, Helms, Schoenfeld, Lally. Where a number is a tuned default rather than a finding, it says so instead of inventing a citation.

Ranks you only compete with yourself in

Eight tiers from Bronze to PEAK, computed per exercise from a bodyweight- and sex-normalised estimated one-rep max. No percentiles, no leaderboards, no population framing. Stop training a lift and it goes quiet and keeps its peak — it is never marked down.

Freshness, described honestly

Four named bands — Fresh, Recovered, Worked, Just trained — and no percentage anywhere, because a percentage would imply a precision that is not there. It describes the sets you logged. It is not a readiness score.

A week has more say than a day

One heavy day never escalates on its own, and when something is worth flagging it arrives with the week around it. The copy reports what happened and leaves the verdict to you.

Privacy

Local-first, and quiet about it

Your training, food and habit data is written to your device first. Turn on cross-device sync and it is also stored with our backend provider under row-level security, reachable only by your authenticated account.

  • No ads, and no advertising SDKs.
  • Nothing sold or shared for cross-context advertising, to anyone, ever.
  • Your data is never used to train an AI model, and no third-party AI service is used.
  • Product analytics are off until you turn them on, and carry no device or account identifier.
  • Barcode and label scanning happens on your device; those photos are never uploaded.
  • Apple Health readings stay on your device and are never sent to our servers.
  • Export to CSV, and delete everything, whenever you want.

The specifics — including what our providers see and where they are — are in the Privacy Policy.

Cost

Free today, and honest about later

Every tier is currently free and no payment is collected. A paid Pro tier is planned at roughly $4.99 a month, with a one-off Founders option around $49 — estimates, not yet charged.

A gate covers authoring, never evaluation

Paid features decide whether you can build or edit something — never whether what you already built keeps working. If a subscription lapses, your existing setup keeps running and only the editor locks.

Paid adds, it does not carve out

Nothing that works today moves behind a payment later. When the first paid feature shipped, the free tier got better in the same release. Your progress is yours, and is never held back to make a point.
